Following an initial shakedown test at Brands Hatch last week and a presentation to the public at the Formula Ford Festival on Sunday, the new RFR F1000 car was extensively tested at Snetterton on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
With a full team of designers and engineers in attendance together with F3 driver Joey Foster at the wheel, the car performed faultlessly over the 2 days, finally getting down to a 64.6 second lap which was over a second quicker than the current Renault Sport cars, and only fractionally over 2 seconds slower than 2008 Formula 3 Dallaras testing at the time.
Ralph Firman was quoted as saying that he was absolutely amazed that a one litre car could circulate at this speed on an cold autumn day.
