Florida based HP-Tech Motorsport which has developed out of Auto Errante Competition, the Venezuelan Company founded in 1975, has taken on the agency for the Firman F1000 and F2000 cars in the South East Division of the USA. Originally specialising in Drag Racing, team principal Juan Herrera took the Company into Formula Ford racing in 1990 when they became Venezuelan importers for Ralph Firman's Van Diemen marque.
Relocating to the US in 2004, they contracted with the American Speed Factory to work in Pro Star Mazda, the North American Ferrari Challenge and Grand Am racing, where they won 2 Star Mazda Master Championships and 4 Ferrari Challenge Championships over the course of 6 years.
In 2010, the reformed Company returned to Formula Ford competing in SCCA National FF2000 in the South East division, and plans are now in place for a full assault on the 2011 Pro F2000 Championship Series with drivers Giancarlo Potolicchio and Roberto La Rocca, both in new Firman F2000 chassis due for delivery this week. A third chassis is due to airfreight to Miami in November.
